American professional boxer, boxing referee, and television personality Mills Bee Lane III served two terms as a district court judge in Washoe County, Nevada.

Lane was most known for his roles as Judge Mills Lane on the popular syndicated court show and as a heavyweight boxing match referee in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.
In May 2006, Lane made his first public appearance in years at the dedication of a new courthouse in Reno that bears his name.
The Mills B. Lane Justice Center houses both the Reno Municipal Court and the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office.
