Sandi Toksvig cancelled part of her latest tour after being admitted to hospital with bronchial pneumonia in December 2022.
According to a statement posted on Twitter by her team, three dates in New Zealand have been cancelled.
“Our main priority is getting her home to the UK as soon as she is well enough,” the statement said.
“Due to illness, Sandi has cancelled the New Zealand leg of her tour. She has been admitted to hospital with bronchial pneumonia while still in Australia and is unable to travel and perform.”

Bronchial pneumonia is a type of pneumonia that is characterized by acute inflammation of the bronchi, which are the two large tubes that carry air from the windpipe to the lungs, and is frequently accompanied by inflamed patches in the nearby lobules.
In 2016, she took over as host of the comedy panel show QI from Stephen Fry. In addition to her work in broadcasting, she co-founded the Women’s Equality Party in 2015.
