Assem Allam was an Egyptian-British businessman who lived in East Yorkshire since 1968.

Assem Allam was the father of three adult children: Ehab Allam, Eman Forster and Enais Iredale.
Allam and his son were named to the Sunday Times Rich List in 2010. Ernst & Young, the same accounting firm that served as Administrative Receivers for Tempest and Ruscador, named him UK Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006.
He was the owner of Allam Marine, an industrial generator manufacturer, as well as Hull City, an EFL Championship club.

Dr Allam bought Hull City in 2010 and oversaw two promotions to the Premier League, an FA Cup final appearance and a League One title over 12 years.

Assem Allam passed away on 2 December 2022 from cancer. He was 83. Posting on social media, his son, Ehab, paid tribute to his father, describing him as a “strong, loving and determined man.”
