Jim Kolbe was an American businessman and politician who served in the United States House of Representatives as a Republican.

There are no public records indicating whether Jim Kolbe had children or not. Jim Kolb died from a stroke on December 3, 2022, at the age of 80.

From 1985 to 2003, Jim Kolbe represented Arizona’s 5th congressional district, and from 2003 to 2007, he represented Arizona’s 8th congressional district.

He served on the International Republican Institute’s board of directors. During the 2010 election, he broke with the Republican Party to support Democrat Andrei Cherny for state treasurer. He was also a member of the Inter-American Dialogue, a think tank based in Washington, D.C.

Kolbe served on the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations under Democratic President Barack Obama after leaving Congress.

Kolbe left the Republican Party and became an independent following Donald Trump’s election in 2018. In the 2020 presidential election, he endorsed Joe Biden.
