Gaylord Perry was a professional baseball player from the United States. In 1991, Perry was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

From 1962 to 1983, he was a right-handed pitcher for eight different teams in Major League Baseball.
Perry had a 22-year baseball career with 314 wins, 3,534 strikeouts, and a 3.11 earned run average.
The Sporting News ranked him 97th among the 100 Greatest Baseball Players in 1998. Perry’s uniform number 36 was retired by the Giants on July 23, 2005.

On March 9, 2009, Perry was inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame. Perry, along with other San Francisco Giants greats, was honored with a 2010 World Series ring on April 9, 2011, at AT&T Park.
On April 18, 2015, he was presented with a 2014 World Series ring alongside Mays, McCovey, Cepeda, and Juan Marichal at AT&T Park.
Gaylord Perry, died Thursday, December 1 2022, of natural causes, according to Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler. He was 84 at the time.
