On 2 January 2022, Josh Giddey became the youngest ever player to record a triple-double, with 17 points, 14 assists, and 13 rebounds in a 95–86 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He was only 19 years, and 84 days old at the time.
Josh Giddey represented Australia at the 2019 FIBA Under-17 Oceania Championship in New Caledonia. Giddey made his debut for the Australia national basketball team during the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualification on 23 February 2020.
In April 2019, Josh Giddey led VIC Metro to the title at the Australian Under-18 Championships where he averaged 20 points, 8.3 rebounds, and six assists per game.
Josh Giddey became the third-youngest player to record at least 10 assists in a game on 27 October 2021.
