Since retiring, Ryan Shazier has been working with his foundation. Ryan Shazier founded The Ryan Shazier Fund for Spinal Rehabilitation after he suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury (SCI).
The injury opened his eyes to a vulnerable community and the systemic barriers SCI patients face on their road to recovery.

The fund, which was established in 2020, is dedicated to moving forward in the spinal cord injury community, with the ultimate goal of changing how people perceive these injuries.
The Ryan Shazier Fund for Spinal Rehabilitation’s mission is to provide those with spinal cord injuries and their caregivers with the assistance, resources, and funding they require to live independent and meaningful lives.
In addition to working with people who have spinal cord injuries, Shazier launched his first company, Shay Trucking, in 2021.
