Embolo added the finishing touch to a free-flowing Swiss move in the 48th minute, sweeping home a low cutback from Xherdan Shaqiri.
After finding the back of the net, Embolo opted for a muted celebration, given his connection to the African nation.

However, some indigens of Camerron didn’t take Embolo’s goal lightly and according to reports, vandalised Embolo’s family home in Cameroon.

Some also rained abousive words on him via social media.
Embolo’s mother has since leapt to her son’s defence, explaining that Cameroonians ought not be angry at her son.
According to Sporting Sun, Embolo’s mother said:
Leave my child alone, leave Embolo alone. When the Swiss took and trained him, where was Cameroon? You should instead talk about your own players. A national team where you have to pay money before you are called up.
