Former professional football player Luis Enrique Martnez Garcia, better known by his stage name Luis Enrique, is now employed as a football manager. He is now the head coach of Spain’s national team.

On December 27, 1997, Luis Enrique married his long-term partner Elena Cullell. On August 29, 2019, their daughter Xana, age 9, passed away from bone cancer.

While paying tribute to his daughter, Enrique emphasized that they loved her wherever she was.

Xana died in 2019 after a five-month struggle with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. The tribute video was shot as the coach of Spain’s national football team was riding his morning bike.
Notably, Luis Enrique resigned as Spain’s national team coach in the final stages of Xana’s sickness in 2019 to spend more time with his family. He later returned to his post, however.
Enrique’s second daughter, Sira Martinez, also paid tribute to her younger sister. Sira is dating Ferran Torres, who will be playing in the game against Germany. Torres scored twice in Spain’s opening World Cup match against Costa Rica.
