Roderick James “Jess” McMahon Sr., alias Jess McMahon was an American professional boxing and wrestling promoter. Jess was also acknowledged as the founder of the Capitol Wrestling Corporation.

Jess McMahon worked as an active wrestling promoter for over twenty years. His unique way of promoting boxing and wrestling matches was how he got his fame all over America. Jess also made a massive contribution as a matchmaker for bouts at the Garden, this also gained him much recognition.
Jess McMahon got married in 1912 to Rose Davis, a beautiful New York lady of Irish descent. Jess and Rose had three children, Roderick James Jr., Vincent, and Dorothy.
