Williams went on to play college football for the Texas Longhorns, where he was a two-time unanimous All-American and won the 1998 Heisman Trophy after playing baseball and football at Patrick Henry High School in San Diego, California.

During his senior year, he shattered the NCAA Division I-A records for career rushing yards and all-purpose yards.

After a blockbuster trade, Williams was picked fifth overall by the New Orleans Saints in the 1999 NFL Draft and spent three seasons with the team until being traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2002.

Williams – who played for the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, and Baltimore Ravens – ultimately saw his career come to an abrupt end in 2011 after he was suspended for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy on several occasions.
