Nigerian international gospel sensation Sammie Okposo passed away from an unknown cause, on November 25, 2022.

He was aged 51.

Okposo had reportedly slumped and given up the ghost without any known health challenge.

Who Was Sammie Okposo?

Sammie Okposo was an international gospel singer, music producer, psalmist, and CEO of Zamar Entertainment.

Born on May 30, 1971, Okposo is known for his hit song “Welu Welu”.

As far back as 1992, Okposo served as a soundtrack producer in the Nigerian movie industry before he switched to music.

He released his first album, “Unconditional Love,” in 2000, followed by another album in 2004 titled Addicted.

Okposo collaborated with several gospel and soul artists such as Marvellous Odiete, staging performances across Africa, Europe, and North America.

Okposo was also known for his concert SOPP (Sammie Okposo Praise Party), which drew fans from all over the world.

His most recent album, The Statement was released in 2018.

Okposo was an award-winning gospel singer and is survived by his wife, Ozioma Okposo and child Alula Okposo.
