ITV’s Technical Director Roger Pearce passed away on November 21, 2022, at the venue of the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

He was aged 65 and his cause of death was not disclosed.
Pearce had been covering his eight World Cup, this time in Qatar, when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Pearce had been a staff of ITV for over four decades, specializing in covering World Cups, UEFA Europe Championships and the Rugby World Cup.

Pearce has been described as a highly respected figure in the TV sports broadcasting industry, and a charming personality who would stop at nothing to put smiles on the faces of others.
‘So sad to hear of the passing of my friend and former colleague at ITV Meridian, Roger Pearce. He died on his last assignment in Qatar before retirement in 5 weeks’ time. RIP Roger,’ Neil Stainsby wrote on Twitter.
