Twitter is currently facing a drastic workforce decline, as countless number of employees are resigning from the social media giant.

The mass resignation and disarray began after Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk, gave an ultimatum that staff consent to “no work from home”, “long hours at high intensity,” or exit the company..

Musk had recently sacked over 7500 employees, who happened to mocked him in tweets and internal messages.

As a result, he set a deadline of 5PM ET on Thursday for all Twitter staff to consent vis a Google form if they want to stay for the next wave of the company he tagged “Twitter 2.0;” or otherwise quit.

Employees however, responded in the negative and rather said they preferred the resignation option, with three months of severance pay.

“I’m not pressing the button,” one departing employee posted in Slack. “My watch ends with Twitter 1.0. I do not wish to be part of Twitter 2.0,”, an employee wrote on an internal message platform.

Mr. Musk and his board members have now made a move to stop the mass resignation.

Twitter later announced via email that it would shut down “our office buildings” and “disable employee badge access until Monday.”

Musk says the company needs to be positioned rightly as the most competitive it could be, and also cut down on costs.
