Fisher appeared on TV with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, promoting his fishing hobby. In 2007, he and Fearnley-Whittingstall won the André Simon Memorial book award for The River Cottage Fish Book.
He began his career as a magazine agony uncle in the 1980s and has since appeared on several shows, including ITV’s Dear Nick and BBC 5 Live radio show Dirty Tackle. He also appeared on River Cottage: Gone Fishing with Fearnley-Whittingstall.
