Solomon Feldthouse
Solomon Feldthouse was a folk musician born in 1940.
He had named his daughter “Fairuza”, which means “turquoise” in Persia, because she was born with coloured eyes.
Solomon was a pioneer member of the 1960s psychedelic rock group Kaleidoscope.
He had lived in Turkey some parts of his life and managed to learn Greek, Iraqi, Iranian, and Armenian music.
Solomon passed on in 2021.
Cathryn Balk
Fairuza’s mother, Cathryn was a belly dancer, born in 1944.
At some point in her life, she had lived with her daughter in Jackson, Michigan, Vancouver, and British Columbia, where she helped her hone her acting skills.
Cathryn passed away in 2018.

Born on May 21, 1974, in Point Reyes, California, Balk was first featured in the film Return to Oz (1985), where she starred as Dorothy Gale.
