Dame Julie Andrews DBE is an actress, singer, and author from England who made her  Broadway debut in The Boy Friend (1954).

She rose to prominence as “Britain’s youngest prima donna,” starring in Broadway musicals such as My Fair Lady (1956) as Eliza Doolittle and Camelot (1960) as Queen Guinevere.

On March 31, 1957, Andrews appeared in the live, colour CBS network broadcast of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s written-for-television musical Cinderella, which was seen by over 100 million viewers.

Andrews made her feature film debut in Walt Disney’s Mary Poppins (1964), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
