Harvey Weinstein is a convicted sex offender and former film producer from the United States.
In 2017, Harvey was forced to respond to numerous sexual harassment claims filed by women dating back 20 years, including Ashley Judd.

Harvey was fired by The Weinstein Company’s board of directors on October 9, 2017. Within weeks, Weinstein was barred from working with various production guilds in the entertainment industry, effectively making his return to the industry impossible.
Weinstein was found guilty of the first-degree criminal sexual act and third-degree rape in New York in 2020 and sentenced to 23 years in prison.

Harvey Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year sentence in New York after being convicted on similar charges there. His earliest possible release date is November 9, 2039, when he will be 87 years old.
He was extradited to Los Angeles on July 20, 2021, to face additional charges in a subsequent trial.
In October 2022, the trial in Los Angeles began. Weinstein was charged with 11 counts of rape, forcible oral copulation, and sexual battery between 2004 and 2013.
