Rep. John Palasikwas a Milton native who had served in the Vermont House since 2019. John was the father of two daughters and a young grandson.

Palasik did not run for reelection this fall, citing a desire to spend more time with his family, particularly his young grandson, earlier this year.
Palasik graduated from Milton High School and served in the United States Army for six years before joining the Vermont Army National Guard for three years.
He served on Milton Rescue for 16 years and was a police officer for 37 years, including three decades with the Milton Police Department. He was most recently on the Milton Selectboard.

John Palasik passed away on November 15, 2022, after several months of illness. He was 68.
Don Turner, the town manager of Milton, who has known Palasik for many years, said Palasik died while in hospice care at a facility in Colchester.
Funeral services are set for Saturday, November 19 2022. Gov. Phil Scott has ordered state flags lowered to half-staff in Palasik’s honour.
