Thomas Earl Emmer Jr., best known as Tom Emmer, is an American attorney and politician who has been the U.S. representative for Minnesota’s 6th congressional district since 2015.

Tom was born on March 3, 1961 in South Bend, Indiana to his parents Thomas Earl Emmer Sr. and his wife of sixty years Patsy.

Tom’s father is late. He passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020, surrounded by his best friend and wife of 60 years Patsy, his children and all of his grandchildren.

Tom’s father was born in Minneapolis on March 20, 1939, to Earl and Helen Emmer.

Tom’s dad graduated from St. Thomas Academy and the University of Notre Dame.

He met his wife Patsy while attending grade school at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Edina, Minnesota.

Tom had an amazing career with Emmer Brothers Lumber Company and Viking Forest Products.

He was a staunch catholic and an astute family man.

Tom’s father was also an avid golfer, a bookworm, a regular at Hoagie’s for breakfast, a hunter and a fisherman.
