Chuck Carr Wife: Was Chuck Carr Married?

Chuck Carr was a former Mets outfielder who played for the team in 1990 and 1991. Carr was married to Candace Gilbert.

Carr met his wife, Candace Gilbert, in the summer of 1987 summer on a road trip to Oregon. They got married in San Bernardino, California, on August 18, 1988.

Chuck and his wife Candace welcomed their first child, a boy named Sheldon in 1992.  Candace had had six miscarriages and a baby born prematurely who lived only a few days.

It is unknown whether he was still married to Candace Gilbert at the time of his death.  Chuck Car passed away on November 13, 2022, at the age of 55. According to family social media posts, Carr was battling health issues.

Carr spent eight seasons in the majors, leading the National League with 58 stolen bases for the expansion Florida Marlins in 1993, after appearing in only 16 games for the Mets the previous two seasons. During the strike-shortened 1994 season, the speedster stole 32 bases.

Carr briefly played for the Long Island Ducks and manager Bud Harrelson, who had been Carr’s manager with the Mets.
