He is best known for presenting the nationally syndicated late-night radio talk show The Jim Bohannon Show on the Westwood One Network.

Bohannon was named multiple times to Talkers magazine’s annual “Heavy 100” list of “America’s 100 Most Important Radio Talk Show Hosts.”

In 2003, he was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame, and in 2013, he received the Talkers Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jim Bohannon, host of Westwood One’s syndicated talk show, “The Jim Bohannon Show” has died from cancer.

He was 78. Bohannon was NAB’s Broadcasting Hall of Fame 2022 radio inductee. “The Jim Bohannon Show” aired from 10 pm-1 am on weekdays on over 300 radio stations.

How Did Jim Bohannon Die?

Conservative talk radio host Jim Bohannon died Saturday at the age of 78 of esophageal cancer.

Bohannon stepped down from his popular Jim Bohannon Show last month, citing health concerns.

He had hosted the show for over 30 years and was featured on the Westwood One radio network for 40.

His show, which he inherited from the late Larry King after King moved to CNN, aired each weeknight from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. EST on more than 300 radio stations nationwide.
