Rab Noakes Children: Did Rab Noakes Have Kids?

Singer, songwriter and founding father of Stealers Wheel, Rab Noakes has died at age 75.

His death was announced by singer Barbara Dickson on Twitter. She wrote;

“I am shocked. We had so much in common – The Everly Brothers, the Flying Burrito Brothers and an enduring love of songs, particularly traditional music.”

Noakes who was born on 13 May 1947 passed away suddenly while in hospital on 11 November 2022.

Did Rab Noakes Have Kids?

There has been no reportage of Noakes’ children so it is assumed he didn’t have any children.

Noakes who grew up in Cupar, Fife, was also a solo artist who released more than 20 albums and performed during festivals such as Celtic Connections.

Despite playing a key role in the formation of Stealers Wheels, he left the group before they recorded their first album.

Following his exit from the group, he made his own debut solo recording Do You See The Lights in 1970, with a line-up that included ex-partner Robin McKidd on electric guitar and Scottish jazz bassist Ronnie Rae.

Noakes also worked as the senior producer for music programmes on BBC Radio Scotland.

He was also the founder of the production company Neon.
