Dow Finsterwald Wife: Who was Dow Finsterwald Married to?

Dow Finsterwald, Sr. was an American professional golfer who won the PGA Championship in 1958.

Finsterwald was married to Linda Finsterwald. The couple began dating in junior high and got married on November 21, 1953, in Dillon, South Carolina.

Dow was discharged from the Air Force, and the couple settled in Athens while Dow competed on the PGA Tour.

They had five children: twins John and Jane in 1957, Dow (Jr) in 1959, Russell “Ref” in 1960, and Michael, who died soon after birth.

Linda worked as a part-time Sales Associate at A Short Story at the Broadmoor, volunteered at Penrose Hospital, and helped out at many Broadmoor golf tournaments.

Linda Finsterwald, passed away on June 13, 2015, at Penrose Hospital. Dow Finsterwald turned professional in 1951 and went on to win 11 times on the PGA Tour. In his career, he finished fifth or better more than 50 times.

He was inducted into the Ohio University Athletics Hall of Fame in 1969, joining his father, Russ Finsterwald.

Dow Finsterwald died Friday, November 4, 2022 night at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was 93. Dow Finsterwald Jr., his son, said his father died peacefully in his sleep.
