Gregg Allman was the husband of Cher, an American singer, actress and television personality crowned by the media as the “Goddess of Pop”.

Gregg was Cher’s second husband and they got married following the latter’s divorce from Sonny Bono. Sonny and Cher were married from 1969 to 1975.
Cher and Allman tied the knot on June 30, 1975– just four days after she finalized her divorce from Sonny Bono.
It must be noted that at the time she finalized her divorce from Bono, she had been separated from him [Bono] for about a year.

Cher and Allman’s marriage was short lived and didn’t come as a surprise.

According to Utimate Classic Rock, many people were skeptical of Cher and Allman’s relationship from the get-go.
Allman was the frontman and lead singer of the Allman Brothers Banda.
Again, Ultimate Classic Rock reported that Allman’s band members weren’t huge fans of his relationship with Cher.
Cher filed for divorce just over a week after marrying Allman. This, according to EW was due to Allman’s liquor problems.
Cher is quoted as saying;
“He was so high he didn’t even understand me.”
Not long after the release of their duet album, the pair divorced.
The duet album was released on November of 1977 and they divorced within three months of its release.
The pair had one son together, Elijah Blue.
Sadly, Allman passed away in 2017 at age 69 of complications with liver cancer.
