Kurtis Townsend Teams Coached

Townsend has coached the Eastern Kentucky, Michigan, USC, Miami, and now, Kansas.

He had coached his team to win the NCAA Tournament twice, in 2008 and 2022.

Kurtis Townsend Teams Played

Townsend’s playing career was only with the Western Kentucky and it lasted between 1978–1980.

He played college basketball as a point guard for Western Kentucky University, where he bagged a degree in recreation.

Townsend further played for Menlo Junior College in California, for two seasons; and another one season for the Montana Golden Nuggets of the CBA.

Townsend and Kansas head coach Bill Self, were recently suspended.

This is coming after FBI investigations revealed that several basketball programs paid top recruits to attend their schools during the NCAA.
