Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye was the Archbishop of the Anglican Province of Lagos, Nigeria, and a bishop of the Church of Nigeria. Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye was born in Okene on January 28, 1969. He is from Idanre in Ondo State.

He received his first degree in Religious Studies from the University of Ibadan between 1991 and 1993, his master’s degree in Religious Studies in 2001, and his doctorate in Church History and Doctrine from the same university.

After graduating from Immanuel College of Theology in Ibadan, he was ordained a deacon in June 1993 and a priest in December of the same year by E.A. Ademowo, Bishop of Ilesha Diocese.

Olumakaiye was enthroned as the Bishop of Lagos on July 30, 2018, and shortly after in November 2021 presented as the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos.

He was a member of the supra west church of Nigeria’s pension and gratuity board, as well as the governing council of Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo.

Most Reverend Humphrey Olumakaiye passed away on October 31, 2022, at the age of  53. According to a highly credible source within the Lagos Diocese, Olumakaiye died after a long battle with an unspecified ailment.
