Hugh McKean was a Colorado politician from Loveland. Hugh McKean was born in 1967 on October 27th.

McKean was elected in 2016 to represent Colorado House District 51. He was elected Leader of the Colorado House Republican Caucus four years later.
McKean was a Loveland city councilman before becoming a state representative. McKean died of a heart attack on October 30, 2022, three days after his 55th birthday, at home.
At the time of his death, he was running unopposed for a fourth term in the November 8, 2022, elections.

McKean’s deputy chief of staff, Roger Hudson, told The Denver Post that McKean had been complaining about pain on the left side of his body, which he claimed was the result of an injury he sustained while working on his house.
Hudson and Rep. Colin Larson revealed that McKean’s pain did not improve and had worsened by Sunday morning, forcing him to call his longtime partner Amy Parks for assistance.
