Late baseball coach, Art Fowler, who was known to have coached the Oakland Athletics in the 40s, passed away, on January 29, 2007, in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

He was aged 84.
He was buried in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
In the 2007, ESPN portrayed Bill Buell as Fowler in its miniseries The Bronx is Burning.
Fowler was survived by his wife, Ruth Birch Fowler, two children and a sister.

Fowler stood at 5 ft 11 inches (1.80 m) tall while he was alive. He also weighed 180 lb (82 kg).
