Jacob Tyler Realmuto is a Major League Baseball catcher who currently plays for the Philadelphia Phillies (MLB). He was a member of the Miami Marlins from 2014 to 2018.

Realmuto was born to his parents David Realmuto and Margaret Realmuto in Del City. Realmuto was born in Del City, Oklahoma, into an athletic family.
His father played college baseball for Southwest Missouri State, and his older sisters Ryan and Amanda caught softball for Oklahoma State and Northwestern State, respectively. Realmuto’s uncle, John Smith, was also a two-time Olympic gold medalist in wrestling.
Because his father, David, was frequently coaching his older sisters’ softball teams, Realmuto’s mother, Margaret, drove him to his Little League Baseball games and other sporting events.

Realmuto was a multi-sport athlete throughout his childhood, beginning with baseball at the age of five and wrestling the following year.
He began playing basketball and gridiron football in fourth grade, and he briefly played tennis in middle school.
Realmuto made his MLB debut in June 2014. Realmuto batted.259 in 467 at-bats in his first full major league season, with 10 home runs, 47 RBIs, and 49 runs scored. Realmuto was named the Marlins’ Rookie of the Year at the end of the season.
