He is known for his aggressive, melodic solos and repeated chord progression or refrain in music.

Basic settings you will need to get right in order to get a heavy guitar tone like Mick Mars include;

• Gain: 9
• Treble: 6
• Middle: 4
• Bass: 6
• Presence: 4

However, one has to take note of the following;

• The guitar to be used needs to have the right pickups with a good output level.
• To achieve the above, a guitar with humbuckers is suggested as a stratocaster with single coils may not provide the needed result
• Again, the amplifier needs to be capable of this kind of tone.
