Walter Martin Corey, an American football player and coach who played college football for the University of Miami has died. He was born on May 9, 1938 and died October 24, 2022 at age 84.

Did Walt Corey have kids? Corey was very secretive about his personal life and as a result, there is no information on his children.

Born the youngest of 16 children to his parents, Corey belonged to a family who worked in Western Pennsylvania mill towns.

Corey went undrafted out of the University of Miami and signed as a free agent with the Dallas Texans in 1960.

He was a member of the Texans’ 1962 AFL championship team and continued with the team through its move to Kansas City.

Corey later held assistant coaching positions with several teams, including the Buffalo Bills from 1987 to 1994 under head coach Marv Levy.

Corey was Buffalo’s defensive coordinator for Buffalo’s four consecutive AFC Championship teams from 1990 to 1993. He was also the defensive line coach in New Orleans during the Mike Ditka era, from 1997 to 1999.

He was the defensive coordinator and Linebackers coach of the Memphis Maniax of the XFL.
