The cause of the death of Franci Swanepoel has not yet been revealed. Franci Swanepoel passed away in her sleep at the age of 50 on Saturday 15 October 2022.

Franci Swanepoel was born on 4 November 1942 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She held Russian nationality.

As an actress, Franci Swanepoel also took on the role of Gesie in PG du Plessis’ Koöperasiestories; and roles in Desert Flower and Somebody to Love, by Jan Scholtz.

Franci Swanepoel was the continuity Anchor of SABC2 and is best known for her role as Toeks Joubert on the M-Net soapie Binnelanders. She has had roles in acclaimed stage plays like Siener in die Suburbs and Swatskaap.
