How old was Kristin Smart when she disappeared?

Kristin Smart was a19 year-old American woman who was found to have been murdered by Paul Flores at the end of her freshman year at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Kristin Smart was born in Augsburg, Bavaria, West Germany, on February 20, 1977, to Stan and Denise Smart, both teachers to children of American military personnel.

She had one sibling and one brother. Smart moved to Stockton, California, with her family when she was a child.

She attended and graduated from Lincoln High School in Stockton in 1995. She worked as a lifeguard and camp counsellor at Camp Mokuleia in Hawaii prior to her disappearance. Her body was never discovered. In 2002, Smart was declared dead.

Paul Flores and his father, Ruben Flores, were arrested and detained on suspicion of Smart’s disappearance on April 13, 2021.

Investigators searched their homes and discovered numerous “items of interest.” Their trial started in July 2022. Paul Flores was found guilty of Kristin’s murder on October 18, 2022.
