Elnaz Rekabi is a sport climber from Iran. She was born on 20 August 1989. She is 33 years old.

She competed in the 2021 IFSC Climbing World Championships, winning bronze in the women’s combined event.

In 2022, she competed in the IFSC Climbing Asian Championships, finishing fourth. Notably, she did not wear Iran’s mandatory headscarf.

Is Elnaz Rekabi Alive? On 18 October 2022, two days after the competition, Rekabi went missing. This occurred during the Mahsa Amini protests.

Ms Rekabi’s family and friends lost contact with her after she stated she was with an Iranian official.

The Iranian embassy announced on Tuesday, 18 October 2022 that she had returned to Tehran.

“Ms Elnaz Rekabi left Seoul for Iran on Tuesday morning, following the conclusion of the Asian Championships rock climbing competition,” according to a statement.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in South Korea categorically denies all fake news, lies, and false information about Ms Elnaz Rekabi.”
