Cal Quantrill, a professional baseball player, was born to Paul and Alyson Quantrill.

Paul Quantrill spent 14 seasons in the Major Leagues as a baseball player. From 1992 to 2005, Paul Quantrill was a member of the Major League Baseball (MLB) team the Toronto Blue Jays for six seasons.
Paul Quantrill appeared in 80 or more games five times, led his league in pitching appearances for four years in a row, and never walked more than 25 batters in a season from 1996 on.
Paul Quantrill coached Team Canada at the World Baseball Classics in 2009, 2013, and 2017.
Quantrill and former Blue Jay Roberto Alomar were inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in St. Marys, Ontario, on June 19, 2010.
Paul Quantrill joined the Toronto Blue Jays organisation as a special assistant in June 2016. There are currently no other records of his mother.

Cal Quantrill made his major league debut with the Padres on May 1, 2019, allowing two runs in 5+23 innings pitched.
On May 25, 2019, he earned his first major league victory in Toronto. On May 26, he was optioned to the El Paso Chihuahuas.
Quantrill was 2-0 in 10 appearances for the Padres in 2020. He was 15-5 with a 3.38 ERA in 186.1 innings and a 1.208 WHIP in 2022.
