Clannad was formed in 1970 in Gweedor, County Donegal by siblings Ciaran, Pol and Moya Brenna and their uncles Noel and Padraig.

Clannad’s international breakthrough came when the band was asked to record the theme for the ITV mini-series Harry’s Game, set during the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
The group successfully bridged traditional Celtic music pop and became the first band to sin in Irish on Top of the Pops in 1982.

What Happened to Clannad?
Clannad’s member Padriag Duggan died in 2016, leaving the group to embark on their 2020 farewell tour as a quartet.
In 2022, they also lost one of the member of the group, Noel Duggan.
