Ted White, a stuntman and actor best known for his role as Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, died at his home on October 14, 2022, at the age of 96.

News of his passing was released on Facebook by producer Sean Clark, owner of Convention All-Stars:
“As I’m here setting up at Monsterpalooza I just got hit with the news that my dear friend Ted White has passed away. I was told he passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home,” Clark wrote.
Ted White was also well-known for filling in for John Wayne, Fess Parker, Clark Gable, and Richard Boone.

Ted White was born in Krebs, Oklahoma. White was raised in Snyder, Texas. He played football for the University of Oklahoma before moving on to a stuntman/actor career.
When they needed a consultant for the layout of the island in Sands of Iwo Jima (1949), White was approached because of his Marine Corps background.
During his career, White excelled as a stuntman in dozens of films, performing the action scenes in place of such stars as John Wayne and Clark Gable.
