Jeremy Richard Streynsham Hunt is a British politician serving as Chancellor of the Exchequer (appointed 14 October 2022).

Prior to his appointment as the Chancellor of the Exchequer, he served in the Cabinet as;
- Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport from 2010 to 2012,
- Secretary of State for Health and Social Care from 2012 to 2018, and
- Foreign Secretary from 2018 to 2019.
Jeremy replaces Kwasi Kwarteng who had only been in the job for 38 days before being dismissed following his mini-budget announcement, which caused the pound to drop and plunged the markets into chaos.

Hunt was born on November 1, 1966 and is the eldest son of Admiral Sir Nicholas Hunt, who was a Commander in the Royal Navy, and his wife Meriel Eve.

He is also a distant relation of the late Queen Elizabeth II – he is a fifth cousin, meaning they had the same great-great-great-great-grandparents.
Hunt was educated at Charterhouse where he was Head of School.
At Magdalen College, Oxford, he read Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and took a first class honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.
He became involved in Conservative politics while at university, where David Cameron and Boris Johnson were contemporaries.
He was very active in the Oxford University Conservative Association (OUCA), and was elected to serve as president in 1987.
Hunt is married to Lucia Hunt (born Lucia Guo) and they have three children; Eleanor Hunt, Jack Hunt and Anna Hunt.
