Isla Lang Fisher is an Australian actress and author who began appearing in Australian television commercials at age nine.

However, she rose to prominence for her portrayal of Shannon Reed on the Australian soap opera Home and Away from 1994–97, for which she received two Logie Award nominations.
Fisher was born on 3 February 1976 in Muscat, Oman, to parents Elspeth Reid and Brian Fisher who hailed from Scotland.
Isla’s father Grian Fisher was working as a banker in Oman for the United Nations. However, when Isla turned six years, her family returned to their hometown of Bathgate, Scotland, then moved to Perth, Western Australia.

Isla is not the only child of her parents. She has four brothers.
Isla’s mother and siblings live in Athens, Greece, while her father lives in Frankfurt, Germany.
Isla made her professional acting debut in 1993 with two guest-starring roles in the children’s television shows Bay City and Paradise Beach.
At 18, with her mother’s help, she published two teen novels, Bewitched and Seduced by Fame.
In a 2005 interview with Sunday Mirror, Isla said that had she not been successful as an actress, she would probably have been a full-time writer.
