Joyce Dahmer was the mother of Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer an American serial killer and sex offender who committed the murder and dismemberment of seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991.

Joyce Flint was born on Feb. 7, 1936, in Columbus, Wisconsin. Her parents, Floyd and Lillian, were of German and Norwegian ancestry.

She married Lionel Herbert Dahmer on August 22, 1959, according to Brian Masters’ 1993 biography “The Shrine of Jeffrey Dahmer.”

According to the biography, she became pregnant soon after their marriage and suffered from nausea and muscle stiffness during her pregnancy.

Joyce Dahmer had a master’s degree in counselling and mostly stayed out of the spotlight since her son’s death in 1994 and a fight with his father over what to do with their son’s remains in 1995.

Joyce Dahmer was a hypochondriac with depression who required constant attention and spent an increasing amount of time in bed.

She is known to have attempted suicide with Equanil on one occasion. Joyce Dahmer died of breast cancer on November 27, 2000, at the age of 64,
