Anthony M. DeLuca Cause of Death

Anthony M. DeLuca, a senior member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022.

DeLuca, 85, passed away at home. According to a news release from his office, he was diagnosed with lymphoma.

DeLuca, a Democrat, represented the 32nd Legislative District, which included Penn Hills, Verona, the majority of Plum Borough, and the Borough of Oakmont, for 39 years.
He was the Democratic Chairman of the House Insurance Committee for more than 20 years.

DeLuca became an advocate for cancer awareness and early detection after his first lymphoma diagnosis and his late wife’s breast cancer diagnosis.

He was a member of the Democratic Policy Committee, as well as several other caucuses, including autism, cancer, firefighters, and emergency management.

According to the release, DeLuca believed that serving as a state representative was a full-time commitment and did not have any outside employment.

He remotely participated in House floor sessions and voted on legislation until just a few days before his death. DeLuca’s office will be closed through October 15 and reopen on October 17.
