Robert I. Toll has long been involved in philanthropy. He and his wife, Jane, founded the Robert and Jane Toll Foundation, and they involve their children in charitable work.

One of Robert I. Toll’s children worked as a staff member at Seeds of Peace for four years, and he taught Seeds boating skills.

Toll and his brother Bruce E. Toll founded Toll Brothers in 1967 with a focus on building luxury homes ($500,000+), beginning with a plot of land given to them by their father in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Mr Toll died at his home in New York, on Friday, October 7, 2022, according to the Fort Washington, Pa.-based company. He was 81 years old and had Parkinson’s disease.
