Who Was William Chepkut?

William Chepkut was a Kenyan politician and member of the National Assembly.

He had been a representative of the Ainabkoi Constituency between 2017 to 2022.

Chepkut has been a Member of Parliament since 2017.

During the August 2022 election, Chepkut had lost the Ainabkoi parliamentary seat. He had lost to Samuel Chepkonga under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Chepkut bagged his first degree in Commerce, from Jabalpur University in India between 1992 and 1995.

Upon graduation, he came back home to acquire a masters degree in Community Development and Organisation from Kenyatta University.

As an MP, he served in the Special Funds Account Committee and the Committee on Appointments.

Chepkut died on October 8, 2022, after collapsing at his residence. He was rushed to Mediheal Hospital, Nairobi, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Chepkut was said to have been ill for some time before his final breath.
