Smokey Robinson married a fellow Miracles member, Claudette Rogers, in 1959. The two later finalized a divorce in 1986.
On August 21, 2016, Smokey Robinson was inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in his hometown of Detroit. In 2019, Robinson received the Golden Plate Award from the American Academy of Achievement.
