In an unusual and unexplained move, billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has filed for divorce from her second husband, science teacher Dan Jewett.

According to the New York Times, Scott filed for divorce in Washington State on Monday, September 26, 2022.

According to court records, Jewett did not contest the divorce.

MacKenzie Scott announced her marriage to Jewett, a high school chemistry teacher from Washington State, in March 2021 by adding his name to her website.
Mackenzie Scott removed husband Dan Jewett’s name and picture from her Giving Pledge profile sometime in the past week.
Scott are rarely seen together, and he quietly resigned from his teaching job at a private high school in Washington last year, stating that he did not want to be a distraction there.
