Why does Ken Paxton have a droopy eye?

Ken Paxton is a Texas attorney and politician who has been the state’s Attorney General since January 2015.

Paxton nearly lost an eye when he was twelve years old during a game of hide-and-seek; a misdiagnosis led to long-term vision problems.

As a result, his healthy eye is green, while his damaged eye is brown and droopy. While in college, he further injured his eye.

Paxton earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1985 and a master’s degree in business administration in 1986 from Baylor University, where he was elected president of the student government.

He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia in 1991. Paxton was re-elected Attorney General for a second term in 2018.

He previously held the positions of Texas State Senator for the 8th district and Texas State Representative for the 70th district.

Paxton plans to run for re-election in 2022. Paxton defeated George P. Bush 68% to 32% on May 24, securing his party’s nomination and advancing to the November 2022 general election.
