Dale McRaven had a son named David McRaven and a daughter named Renee McRaven. Although their father was known in the public space, there isn’t much information about them.

McRaven was best known for his creation of the ABC sitcom, Perfect Strangers, as well as for his co-creation of Mark & Mindy alongside Garry Marshall and Joe Glauberg. Together, the trio also created the ABC sitcom Angie, which aired in 1970 and 1980.

In addition to creating several television programs, McRaven served as a writer on a few others. He served as a writer and producer for The Porridge Family.
McRaven died on September 5, 2022. He died from lung cancer complications at age 83.
