American musician and songwriter Richard Patrick, left the rock band Nine Inch Nails in 1993, after the band leader, Trent Reznor, made a derogatory remark to him.

Reznor had told Patrick to consider delivering pizzas to earn a living rather than do music.
“Hey, listen, Rich, I know you need some extra cash. Listen. Down at the end of Cielo Drive, there’s a little pizzeria, and they need drivers. So maybe you can go make some extra cash over there”, Reznor had said at the time.
Patrick, in anger, had replied him:
“Hey Man, Nice Shot’. I have five record companies ready to sign me. I hate to tell you this now, but I quit. I’m not gonna sell pizzas and I’m not gonna drive for a pizzeria.”
Patrick left and formed his own band, Filter. He had only been a touring artiste under Reznor.

Richard Patrick is the frontman for the rock band, Filter.
Born on May 10, 1968, Patrick created a number of bands, including The Damning Well and Army of Anyone.
From 1989 to 1993, Patrick worked as a touring guitarist with Nine Inch Nails.
On Pretty Hate Machine, he only made one recorded contribution at the conclusion of “Sanctified.”
Later, he and Brian Liesegang founded their own group, Filter, and in 1995 they released their debut LP, Short Bus.
In 1999, the released its second album, Title of Record.
Patrick doubles as a columnist for the Huffington Post, where he writes a column, called Filtering The Truth, for Suicide Girls.
