Ukrainian – Russian politician, Oleksii Zhuravko, died on September 25, 2022, following an an airstrike in Kherson during the Ukrainian southern counteroffensive.

Who Was Oleskii Zhuravko?
Oleskii was a Ukrainian-Russian politician who served in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Oleksii, who was born on April 21, 1974, in Zhovti Vody, Zhuravko, was raised in an orphanage.
Later, in 1978, he relocated to a boarding school in Tsiurupynsk, where he remained until 1990.
He began his vocational studies in Luhansk in 1993, and in Tsiurupynsk, Ukraine, Oleksii launched many businesses catering to the needs of the disabled.
Oleksii earned his degree in economic theory from Kherson State University in 2007.

Since 2006, Oleksii has belonged to the Party of Regions, a group that supports Russia.

In 2015, he relocated to Russia and attained Russian citizenship. In July 2022, he joined the United Russia party.
Oleksii went back to Kherson following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Three days to his demise, he uploaded a video of him casting his ballot in Kherson for the 2022 annexation referendums.
He said that the region had been “liberated from Ukrainian nationalists” by the Russian occupation.
The Security Service of Ukraine issued a warrant for his arrest after learning of his alleged involvement in operations “aimed at modifying the constitutional order”.
On September 25, 2022, during the Ukrainian southern counteroffensive, Oleksii was murdered in an airstrike on Kherson.
He is survived by his wife, Anzhela and a daughter.
